Old Man Winter is still hanging on but in my book ice cream is always in season. My favorite is double moose tracks in a waffle cone. Just recently I was contacted by a company who makes the waffle cones.
In this video link you will see how they make them on a production basis. As with all production processes the drive is to go faster and faster. What this customer wanted to do is to eliminate the mechanical push bar that directed the cone into its protective sleeve. Increasing the speed of the push bar caused damage to the cone so the were looking for a non-contact alternative.
EXAIR suggested replacing the push bar with a 48″ Super Air Knife. This eliminated the time it took for the bar to push the cone and retract. The entire process now could be sped up resulting in a 10% increase in throughput time.
