Being older than dirt, I have seen the evolution of technology in our everyday personal and work lives. Looking back, it is awesome how far we have progressed and how integrated to the internet we have become.
I just finished sending a print to a customer which was a simple matter of downloading it from our website and forwarding to the customer’s email. In years past I would have had to walk down to print room, decide which drawer to look in first, A size, B size, or C size prints. When the desired print was located it had to be taken over to the blueprint machine to make a paper copy and the original re-filed. After that it was over to the FAX machine to send it off to the customer. What used to take 15-20 minutes now I can accomplish in a minute or so with just a few click of the mouse.
Having an internet connection at home has enabled me to find products that I would not have been able to before. How about a gas pedal for a 1953 Packard, or what is on sale at the grocery store? I detest shopping. So my idea of shopping is an internet connection and a credit card.
