In addition to being easy to use, the Vac-U-Gun is also more efficient than ordinary blow guns. By injecting a small amount of compressed air through directed nozzles, a vacuum is then produced on one end and a high output flow on the other. The amplified outlet flow through the Vac-U-Gun is 12 times the compressed air consumption of the gun.

The Vac-U-Gun is capable of both vacuuming material, as well as being operated as a blow gun. In vacuum mode, the work surfaces can be easily cleaned by vacuuming the debris away rather than blowing it off of the surface. Rather than simply moving the material around the shop floor, it can be contained and transferred to a waste receptacle using the 10’ vacuum hose, or straight into the filter bag.

Switching from vacuum mode to blow mode can be achieved in just a matter of seconds. To change the Vac-U-Gun from vacuum to blow mode, simply remove the threaded cap and change the orientation of the generator inside. Since the Vac-U-Gun has a large 1-1/4” diameter air outlet, it covers much more surface area in less time compared to traditional air guns. This can help to reduce the time needed for a variety of different blowing, cooling, or drying applications. Due to the nature in which the Vac-U-Gun entrains ambient air, it allows for more force and flow through the gun at a minimal compressed air consumption.

EXAIR Reversible Drum Vac™ System: Overview

EXAIR Reversible Drum Vac Systems come in a variety of sizes and configurations to meet the needs of most any application.

Not all liquid vacuums are the same.  We have seen motor burnouts, loud noises, single directional flow, and potential electrical hazards.  EXAIR manufactures a liquid pump to remove all those issues; the Reversible Drum Vac System.  It does not have any moving parts to wear; a two-way action to fill or expel liquid from standard drums; and is quiet.  They only use compressed air to generate a powerful vacuum to lift liquid; and with a simple twist of the knob, it will push the liquid out.  And by using compressed air, no electricity is needed, making it safe.  They work great for fluid transfers or liquid spills, and they can fill a 55-gallon (208L) drum in 90 seconds.  How can this product be useful for you?  If you work with liquids like coolant, waste water or hydraulic oils, the Reversible Drum Vac System is a simple reliable product to have at your facility.  In this blog, I will go over the specifications and packages that EXAIR offers.

The Reversible Drum Vac has stainless steel construction for corrosion resistance.  It comes with a built-in safety relief valve to avoid over pressurizing and an internal float to stop any over-filling of the drum.  The air consumption is minimal; 19 SCFM (538 SLPM) at 80 PSIG (5.5 Bar), and has a low noise level of only 86 dBA.  Systems are available in 5, 30, 55 and 110 gallon capacities (19L, 114L, 208L, and 418L respectively) in different packages.

Mini Reversible Drum Vac System

The 5-gallon size is our Mini Reversible Drum Vac System.  They are designed for tight spaces, quick clean-ups, and small sumps.  We offer two types of systems; the Standard and the Deluxe.  The Standard System, model 6196-5, will come with a 5-gallon drum, two-way pump assembly, shutoff valve, 10′ (3m) vacuum hose, a 90° quick release elbow, an aluminum chip wand, ABS spill recovery kit, two extension wands, a crevice tool, and a skimmer tool.  The Deluxe System, model 6296-5, will include every item in the model 6195-5 plus a 5-gallon drum dolly.

For the larger capacities, the Standard system will include the two-way pump assembly, shutoff valve, 10′ (3m) vacuum hose, a 90° quick release elbow, a standpipe, and an aluminum chip wand.  The standpipe is cut to length for the properly-sized drum (the drum is not included in this option).  The standpipe extends inside the drum to remove as much liquid as possible when emptying the drum. 

The Deluxe system will include all of the items shown above in the Standard system and adds a drum dolly, ABS spill recovery kit, (2) extension wands, crevice tool, skimmer tool and a magnetic tool holder.

The Premium system will include all of the items in the Standard System and adds the drum with lock ring and lid, upgraded heavy duty aluminum tools, ABS spill recovery kit, (2) crevice tools, skimmer tool, a magnetic tool holder and a 20′ (6m) compressed air hose.

Easily Vacuum Fine, Dusty Materials with EXAIR’s Heavy Duty HEPA Vac

Naturally, spring is the time of year that we roll up our sleeves and do some of the deep-cleaning we’ve been putting off all winter. Electrically powered vacuums or shop vacs are not designed to be operated in a rugged industrial environment. Filters clog, motors wear out, and you find yourself frequently replacing them. The HEPA Vac works by injecting compressed air at 80-100 PSIG through the air inlet (1) and into an annular plenum chamber (2). It is then injected into the throat through precisely directed nozzles (3). These jets of air create a vacuum at the intake (4) which draws in material through the generator itself (5), directing it into the bottom of the drum. The airflow is passed first through a pre-filter to trap larger particles, and then through the 0.3 micron HEPA filter, trapping any airborne particles. It is then exhausted through the vent in the top of the drum lid (6).

You wouldn’t use a hammer to try and drive in a screw, so don’t try and force a shop vac or electric vacuum to deal with these harsh materials. Never Use an Electric Vacuum Again, Here’s why…

Let’s face it, industrial facilities get dirty. Dust, flakes, chips, can and do, get everywhere. Once these dry materials become airborne, a clean house can be difficult to maintain, especially if you do not have, or are not using the right equipment.

Not that it’s particularly difficult to change the filter in my trusty shop vac, but this is indeed an “Easy Switch”, simplified option.

EasySwitch Wet-Dry Vac (blog) This is our only vac option that can be used for both wet and dry applications. Simply add the filter to Dry vac, remove it to wet vac. The beauty of this, is that it only takes about 10 seconds to insert or remove the filter. Vacuum power is between 168 and 210 inches of water!!! (depending on psig inlet pressure). This has a standard or HEPA certified filter option. The Easy Switch only comes in 55 gallon size – use your drum or ours!!!

Chip Vac (blog) This beauty vacuums directly into an open drum. This is primarily a dry vacuum. It is designed to pick up chips from fixtures, floors, lathes, saws, mills, and many other industrial equipment. When I say mostly dry, this will pick up wet chips – but is not the best solution for puddles of liquid (we have other options for this). Designed to run at 80 PSIG. Comes in 5 gallon, 30 gallon, 55 gallon and 110 gallon options.

Heavy Duty Dry Vac (blog) This could also be called a Heavy Duty Chip Vac (30, 55, and 110 gallon options). This will be used for the heavier chips, sand, steel shot, basically anything with heavier weight or that is more abrasive.
