How Big Is Big? It’s…Well…It’s Big.

How familiar are you with the products your company makes? Next week, I’ll have been an EXAIR Application Engineer for three years. I can rattle off a good deal of our part numbers and performance specifications from memory, and I’ve got bookmarks in various publications that I keep handy at my desk for other various tidbits of information. I use the latter to support my belief that I do indeed know everything…I just can’t remember it all at once.

Every once in a while, though, no matter how much you KNOW about something, you don’t really THINK about it until you SEE it.  I got a good reminder of this just the other day, when a customer called to arrange return of a Safety Air Gun. Their Purchasing Agent got a request for “the largest, most powerful air gun they’ve got” – which they identified in our catalog as the Model 1218-6 Super Blast Safety Air Gun – so they used our  “Quick Order” feature on our website,  and had it the next day.

I know (yes, from memory) that this is the one equipped with a 1-1/4” NPT ball valve (spring loaded to self-close if dropped), a six foot pipe extension, and our largest Super Air Nozzle…the Model 1120, which produces 23 pounds of blowing force. It is indeed our largest and most powerful air gun, and, WAY more than they needed, which we found out after talking over their needs.  Based on this discussion, they decided to, instead, try our Model 1310-6 Heavy Duty Safety Air Gun – it’s got a six inch pipe extension, and our Model 1100 Super Air Nozzle. Its 13 ounces of force is ideal for a wide variety of general industrial blow off/cleaning uses…including theirs. They’re quite happy with it, and we were just as happy to arrange return of the Model 1218-6 for full credit, per our 30 Day Unconditional Guarantee.

Just to give you an idea of the extreme difference in size between these two Safety Air Guns:

As you can see, no matter what your needs are, we’ve probably got the safety air gun you’re looking for. If you want to find out for sure, you can call, email, or Live Chat with us about your application(s) and/or product selection. We look forward to seeing how we can help.
