Super Sized Is Not A Problem At EXAIR

For many years we as Americans wanted to biggie size, super size, or mega size anything and everything we could.   For myself that mainly meant the fries and drink I used to get at any local fast food joint.   Now that I have hit my mid-30s and all of that has started to catch up to me, I don’t always want the large fry or any fries at all, instead I might try a new salad and trying to eat healthy.  Here at EXAIR, we don’t always associate bigger with better but we do always fill the need when we don’t have something off the shelf.

However, there are still occasions where going super size is necessary and this week, we did just that.   We had a customer ask if we can go bigger on our Super Air Wipes.   We simply asked how big they needed to go and what the reasoning is for it.  Turns out, the reasoning for the larger Super Air Wipe was a newly designed automated cell in a pipe manufacturing facility.   The stock 11″ was too small to fit the 11″ max. diameter piece through to blow off debris so they requested a 12″ Super Air Wipe.   To top off the customization, they were also in need of BP threaded air inlets.

Catalog 30 Stock Air Wipe Sizes

Within a matter of weeks our customer has gone from a product they didn’t know was possible, to shipping out to their site.  This is a one off, custom machined, Super Air Wipe that has a 12″ Throat Diameter.   The only parts on this that are from our standard stock are the bolts, stickers, and the connecting / hinge plates(The clam shell design requires these.).

If you have an application where you don’t think we have exactly what you need or maybe you need to go bigger, or smaller, than what we show in the catalog don’t move on and try to find something else.   Give an Application Engineer a call and we will see how we can tailor our products to your exact needs.

What Exactly Does “Easy To Do Business With” Mean?

That’s the goal – we want it to be easy for you to do business with EXAIR. I understand this is not exactly a quantitative expression, and everyone here likes to have data to back up our claims.  Well, here are just a few ways that I have found to verify we are easy to deal with.

Whenever you call in, the phone is answered by a live person.  This of course is true for Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM EST – what most of us consider “normal business hours”. The team that answers the phone is also our Order Entry team who can help with pricing, some general product questions, lead times, freight quotes, etc. And, if you need additional technical information or an expert to assist you with implementing a solution for your problem, they are the team who will pass your calls on to my team, the Application Engineers.

We have a full staff of Application Engineers who are here to assist with selecting the right product to fit your needs and troubleshooting existing compressed air setups. Our Application engineers are experts at determining how much compressed air can be saved compared to an existing setup and how that translates into your dollar savings. They understand how important it is to you to keep your processes OSHA compliant and personnel safe. Our Application Engineers also walk you through any returns which may occur with our 30 day trail period, which brings us to the next topic.

We honor a 30 day guarantee on stock products.  This permits you to get the product in to your facility and put it through the paces and if it doesn’t perform to your standards, give us a call.  We will take the item back and issue you a full credit for the purchase price of the product. I should probably state at this point that – Yes, we do deal with applications we have not dealt with before. In these situations we remain confident in our recommended solution (or we would not have made it) but will remain close to you as the installation and implementation occur just so we can help troubleshoot if necessary. If it ends up not working – see the first 3 sentences.

On top of all those, we stand behind our product with a 5 year built to last warranty for compressed air products, and a 1 year warranty on electronic components.   This just goes to show how strongly we believe in our workmanship and our products.

In case you have never called or sent in an inquiry from one of the numerous ways we offer to contact us,  please do.  I can assure you that you will receive a timely response from a live person that will give you the best answer possible.   If we don’t have the answer, we’ll tell you and many times we will offer a good place to find a solution.

I Just Saved 15% Of My Compressed Air Usage In 15 Minutes

I’ve been pretty entertained over the past few weeks with all the new commercials from a certain insurance company that boasts their ability to save you 15% in 15 minutes.  Well sure enough one of their competitors has now flipped that on them and turned it into almost a joke.  Their competitor now claims to save the same amount in half the amount of time.  While they never say the name it is still making sure that you get the point they are better than their competition.

While the commercials are funny and I do get a kick out them it is still just talk until you actually try them out.   Here at EXAIR we have our own competitors who will claim their flow is one less SCFM than a similar EXAIR product, or maybe 1 dBA quieter.   The fact of the matter is, they can say whatever they want to in advertisements, catalogs, on websites, or even blogs.   What matters is the actual performance of the products as well as the level of service you receive from the company before and after you purchase.  We’ve said it before, and we will say it again, the proof is in the pudding.

EXAIR will not only provide you with enough (if not more than enough) information before you purchase a product, we will also then stand behind the product with a 30 day guarantee.  To top all of that off, we make ourselves available through phone, email, fax, mail, live chat, or even stop in our facility.  The point is we are here to help and we aren’t going to disappear after you buy the product.

Note: Depending upon your current SCFM use and total capacity – you may be able to save 15% by just twisting on some engineered air nozzles in place of open blow offs. This could actually be performed in less than 15 minutes – you get the picture…
