Order an EXAIR Industrial Housekeeping System, Get a FREE Vac-U-Gun!

EXAIR manufactures a range of pneumatic barrel vacuums (drum vacuums) geared towards cleaning up the inevitable messes you’ll find in just about any industrial environment. These are “workhorse” vacuums with a long history of durability and reliability. EXAIR offers systems suitable for use with dry materials only, wet materials only, as well as one capable of handling both.

Starting on 3/1, order any of EXAIR’s Industrial Housekeeping Systems and receive a FREE Model 6492 Vac-U-Gun Kit. The kit comes complete with the powerful handheld Vac-U-Gun and a vacuum bag and is an excellent solution for small messes around the shop. The porous filter bag allows you to capture any of the vacuumed materials so that they can be easily recycled.

The Vac-U-Gun isn’t just for vacuuming, but also easily converts into a powerful blow gun by simply removing one small part and changing the orientation of the generator inside.

EXAIR’s Industrial Vacuums are designed to be used with steel drums you may already have lying around the warehouse. If you don’t have a steel drum in good condition, we sell Premium Systems that include the drum and everything you could possibly need.

If you’re looking for a system that can handle both wet and dry materials, look no further than the EasySwitch Wet-Dry Vac. The EasySwitch is designed to handle the toughest of industrial cleanup jobs with ease. Available with a standard or HEPA certified filter for dry material, the system quickly and easily converts from vacuum mode to dry mode. Simply lift the latch and remove the filter element when vacuuming liquids. When you’re done, just place the filter insert into the lid and you’re ready to vacuum your dry materials.

The EasySwitch converts from wet to dry materials in less than 10 seconds, with no tools, springs or clips!

Our Reversible Drum Vac allows you to fill a 55 gallon drum in less than two minutes. With the simple turn of a knob, the stainless steel pump quickly empties the drum as well.

The Reversible Drum Vac is a liquid vacuum purpose built to empty and fill sumps or clean up spills.

For thicker more viscous liquids (up to 1400 cP) or for when the application requires lifting the liquid from below-grade sumps, our High Lift Reversible Drum Vac is the best option. Operating in the same manner as the Standard Reversible Drum Vac, the High Lift RDV provides the extra power you need to move liquids from below grade work areas, sumps, or tanks up to 15’ deep. Both the Reversible Drum Vac and High Lift Reversible Drum Vac are offered in a variety of different systems both with and without the drum included.

Using either a standard or High Lift Reversible Drum Vac to provide the vacuum source, the Chip Trapper is capable of filling or emptying a 55 gallon drum in less than two minutes. It is able to pick up both the liquid coolant as well as any chips or shavings that are suspended in the coolant. The liquid is forced through a filter bag inside of the drum which contains any solid materials while allowing the coolant to filter out into the drum. Switching the knob on the Reversible Drum Vac and the directional flow valve to empty will allow the clean coolant to be pumped back out of the drum and reused.

The Chip Trapper is available in either 30, 55, or 110 gallon systems. It’ll also come with (2) 5 micron filter bags, other filter bags are also available ranging from 1 micron up to 200 micron filtration. Using a simple detergent, the filter bags can be washed out, cleaned, and reused multiple times. With no motors or impellers to clog or wear out, as well as no electricity requirement or shock hazard, the Chip Trapper comes with our standard 5-year Built to Last Warranty.

Dry materials are also a common issue generated in a variety of industrial processes. Electrically powered vacuums or shop vacs are not designed to be operated in a rugged industrial environment. Filters clog, motors wear out, and you find yourself frequently replacing them. EXAIR’s Heavy Duty Dry Vac and Chip Vac have NO moving parts to wear out, doesn’t require maintenance, and needs nothing but a source of compressed air to operate. A static resistant hose also prevents painful shocks when working with dry, dusty materials (HD Dry Vac and Premium Chip Vac Only).

The Heavy Duty Dry Vac is constructed of hardened steel designed to provide superior abrasion resistance. It’s also a bit more powerful than the Chip Vac, with a vacuum level of -60” H2O at 80 PSIG. The Chip Vac is constructed of aluminum and is the ideal solution for general duty applications where there is no risk of abrasion.

Using only compressed air, EXAIR’s Industrial Housekeeping vacuums require no electricity. Without electricity and moving parts to wear out, there is no concern for failed parts, motor failure, or personnel safety associated with the use of electric vacuums used with liquids. All systems are available to ship same day from stock and are backed by our 5 Year Built to Last Guarantee. If you’re tired of replacing electric shop vacs in your shop, EXAIR has the solution you need. Feel free to give us a call and we’ll be happy to help you select the best system for your application. Take advantage of this limited time offer and get your hands on a free Vac-U-Gun!

The Case For The High Lift Reversible Drum Vac

If you need to fill -and empty – a drum with water, or water-like liquid quickly and easily, there’s really no quicker – or easier – way to do it than the EXAIR Reversible Drum Vac.  They’ve been around for decades, and are successfully used in a wide variety of applications.  The Reversible Drum Vac pulls a -96″H2O suction head on a 5, 30, 55, or 110 gallon drum, which makes it ideal for a number of typical Industrial Housekeeping or fluid handling applications.

EXAIR Reversible Drum Vac Systems come in a variety of sizes and configurations to meet the needs of most any application.

In cases where the liquid has a higher viscosity, or is below grade, the High Lift Reversible Drum Vac was developed with those exact situations in mind.  It generates a -180″H2O suction head, and comes with a 20ft vacuum hose.  Since its introduction, the High Lift Reversible Drum Vac has been successfully implemented in numerous uses where the extra suction head has been key:

  • A maker of bottled condiments (think barbecue sauce- or ketchup-like consistency) uses them to clean up accidents when bottles are overfilled, or a conveyor malfunction results in dispensing a bottle’s worth of condiment when there’s not a bottle under the nozzle.  The 20ft hose gives them the reach to service several production lines from one centrally located drum, and the two way pumping action allows them to easily pump the drum into their waste collection system.
  • A precast concrete company uses one for various cleanup applications.  The High Lift RDV‘s suction head is needed, in particular for their hydraulic oil leaks & spills.
  • A ferry operator uses one to clean out the engine room bilge.  They put the High Lift RDV on a deck above the engine room…the 20ft hose extends down to the bilge to pump it out, and when the drum is full, it reaches to the main deck so the drum can be emptied into their waste recycling company’s receptacle.
  • A construction company uses one to clean up the slurry created during concrete cutting operations.  The High Lift RDV is able to keep up with the slurry from even their largest saws, and the 20ft hose allows them to keep the drum conveniently out of the cutting area.

EXAIR High Lift Reversible Drum Vac Systems come in different configurations for 30, 55, or 110 gallon drums.

EXAIR Corporation has a variety of Industrial Vacuums to meet most any cleanup need.  They’re all compressed air operated, which means they have no electric motors to burn out, or moving parts to wear out.  If you’d like to find out more, give me a call.

Industrial Vacuums For Most Any Cleanup Need

Vacuum cleaners…most of us think of the electric-powered devices that we clean our carpets at home with. The idea of utilizing vacuum in cleaning applications, however, predates the widespread introduction of electric power by a couple of decades. The original idea was to marry a manual vacuum generating device to a carpet sweeper. These had been around for some time, and they’re still seen today: the beater brush turns as the sweeper is pushed across the floor; it picks up dirt in the brush bristles, and deposits it in an internal receptacle. You’ve probably seen them used in restaurants to tidy up small messes on the floor, in lieu of dragging out the noisy vacuum cleaner while folks are eating.

Anyway, these first vacuum cleaners relied on a bellows, piston cylinder, or other such device that was operated by hand, foot – or, according to one source, a rocking chair – to generate a vacuum. Since it took one person to operate the vacuum generating part, and another to push the sweeper, they weren’t very popular at a time when folks were generally looking for labor SAVING products.

The proliferation of electric power around the turn of the 19th/20th century brought about electric vacuum cleaners.  Most homes have one…including the ‘shop vac’ in my garage, my home actually has three.  These are great for home use; many have long cords that allow you to clean the floors in adjacent rooms without unplugging & re-plugging, and most come with a convenient set of tools for baseboards, furniture, HVAC vents, etc.  For carpet & upholstery, they can’t be beat.

In industrial settings, though, the electric-powered models can find themselves at a disadvantage.  The impellers can clog or break, and the electric motors will, in time, burn out.  If used in wet environments, great care must be used (as with any electric products) or there can be a very real shock hazard.

EXAIR Industrial Housekeeping Products offer a solution to all of these issues.  With no moving parts or electric motors, they are extremely reliable.  If you supply them with clean air, they can run darn near indefinitely, maintenance free.  And no electric power means no shock hazard.

We have a variety of products to meet most any need.  Our Chip Vacs and Heavy Duty Dry Vacs are made for dry material cleanup.  They install (in minutes) on an open top drum, and are available with a variety of accessories…tools, drum dollies, tool holders…even the drum itself if you need one.  The Chip Vac is specified for most ‘general purpose’ jobs; the Heavy Duty Dry Vac is more powerful, and abrasion resistant, for more aggressive needs.  Both exhaust the vacuum air flow through a Filter Bag to contain the particulate in the drum.

The Heavy Duty HEPA Vac features the same high power and rugged construction as the Heavy Duty Dry Vac, but replaces the Filter Bag with a HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) Filter for maximum dust containment.  These are used where critical dust removal, mold & allergen containment, or trapping airborne irritants are called for.

Reversible Drum Vac Family

The Reversible Drum Vac is a two-way liquid pumping system, also made for mounting on standard steel drums…closed top drums, in this case.  They can fill or empty a 55 gallon drum in 90 seconds.  Options include 5, 30, and 110 gallon drum sizes, and a High Lift model – increased suction head for deep wells, underground tanks, or higher viscosity liquids, up to 1,400 cP.

Chip Trapper Systems come complete, ready to go, right out of the box.

The Reversible Drum Vac is also at the heart of our popular and award-winning coolant filtration system: the EXAIR Chip Trapper.  A Filter Bag in the “fill” line traps chips, swarf, and shavings.  The liquid passes through, and is able to be immediately pumped back out.  Not only is coolant life extended, regular cleaning of the coolant sump prevents loss of coolant flow due to clogging of the supply lines.  The Chip Trapper is available in 30, 55, and 110 gallon sizes, and also in the High Lift version.

Speaking of two-way operation, the EXAIR Vac-u-Gun is both a vacuum AND blow gun…simply reverse the orientation of the nozzle insert to reverse the operation:

EXAIR’s Vac-u-Gun transforms in seconds from powerful vacuum to efficient blow gun.

The Vac-u-Gun is an efficient, quiet, and versatile tool with numerous applications, from vacuuming sawdust or shavings, to conveying small parts or pellets, to blowing off chips, water, coolant, or scrap.  And, just in time for Spring Cleaning season, we’re letting you find out just how handy it is, for free – by including one with any qualifying Industrial Vacuum purchase, now through April 30, 2019.

If you’d like to discuss a cleanup application, and how an EXAIR Industrial Housekeeping Product can suit your needs, give me a call.
