If you follow our blog, Twitter, or Facebook pages, you may have seen us mentioning recent nominations for Plant Engineering Product of the Year Awards.  2015 will mark the 28th anniversary for this award, in which Plant Engineering readers select the most outstanding new products that help them do their jobs smarter, safer, more efficiently, and more productively.

Considering the pre-qualifiers for such an award, it makes sense that EXAIR products would show up, and show up repeatedly.  This year our No-Drip Atomizing Spray Nozzles have been nominated as a finalist in the Fluid Handling category.

Products in this field are recognized to present improvement potential, allowing users to create a more innovative process.  EXAIR No-Drip Atomizing Spray Nozzles do so by providing effortless integration of controlled liquid spraying.

Compressed air and pressurized (or non-pressurized) liquid are plumbed to the nozzle.  When compressed air is flowing, liquid will flow as well.  When compressed air flow stops, liquid flow stops.  Immediately.

For an end user of this product, this means that a precise volume of a specific liquid can be sprayed in a given time (duty cycle), with complete control before, during, and after nozzle activation.

The key to adding this innovation rests in the proprietary, patented (#9,156,045) design  of EXAIR’s No-Drip Atomizing Spray Nozzles.  Our engineers have worked tirelessly to create a stand-alone nozzle capable of controlling liquid flow without requiring a liquid control solenoid.

EXAIR Cabinet Coolers Nominated for Product of the Year

We have just found out that four of our new problem solving products have been nominated for Plant Engineering’s Product of the Year (Please Vote for us HERE).  The first candidate I would like to showcase is in the Automation & Controls category.  The Electronic Temperature Control for Dual Cabinet Cooler Systems effectively turn the compressed air supply to the Cabinet Coolers on and off as needed to maintain a constant temperature inside of a hot enclosure. Using the air intermittently to maintain a specific temperature is the most efficient way to operate.

The ETC Dual Cabinet Cooler Systems work in conjunction with EXAIR’s UL listed Cabinet Cooler Systems which provide cooling for your electrical enclosures without the use of refrigerant based coolants or fans.   The Cabinet Cooler Systems utilize a compressed air driven Vortex Tube which uses compressed air. This cold compressed air is exhausted into the enclosure which results in a cool working environment for your electronics. Warm air from inside the enclosure is vented safely back out of the cabinet through built in exhausts and the compressed air is only utilized when the internal air temperature reaches the digitally set temperature on the ETC.

Another added benefit of the ETC on the Cabinet Cooler system is the real time readout of the internal air temperature of your enclosures.  This is on top of the push button set point which will give you a +/-2°F ambient temperature inside of your enclosure.

The ETC Dual Cabinet Cooler Systems are designed for larger heat loads ranging from 3,400 BTU/hr. to 5,600 BTU/hr.   The units are available in NEMA 12, NEMA 4, and NEMA 4X ratings.   This means whether you are in a fairly clean environment or a dirty, hot, muggy environment, EXAIR has you covered.

EXAIR Receives Plant Engineering Product of the Year Awards

Every year EXAIR strives to meet our customer needs with new products. On a day to day basis we communicate with customers who voice problems for which we might or might not have a solution. When we can’t help a customer, we see that as an opportunity to grow our business and meet those customers needs. Over the last year we have released over 250 products to fill our customer’s requests. We submitted 4 of those products to Plant Engineering for voting by their readers for Product of the Year.

EXAIR Welcomes Our French Distributor Kermaz Pneumatic

EXAIR is pleased to host Lionel Barbat of Kermaz Pneumatic, the distributor of EXAIR products in France.  Mr. Barbat has made the journey to visit with us for product training and to see the new developments of EXAIR in person.  We hold an open door to our international distributors and are always pleased when they can visit with us.

While he has been here, we have reviewed new EXAIR products such as the Heavy Duty HEPA Vac and the No Drip Atomizing Nozzles.  We’ve had the opportunity to discuss product award winners like the Siphon Fed Atomizing Nozzle, Digital Flow Meter Data Logger, and the 1114SS Super Air Nozzle.  And, we’ve spent a great deal of time discussing applications of EXAIR products.

One of the applications that stood out was the potential to make a custom Light Duty Line Vac to convey material.  As many of our customers know, we will make custom parts or modifications to our products to suit the specific needs of an application.  This end user wanted flanges machined onto the end of a 130600 (6″ Light Duty Line Vac).  The purpose of these flanges was to allow for ease of mounting within the application.

After a few discussions here at EXAIR, we determined that a stock model could be used and the existing flanges of the system could mount everything perfectly.  Not only did this satisfy the end user, it sped up the timeframe on their project, saved them money, and proved once again that EXAIR is about solving problems.
