EXAIR No-Drip Atomizing Spray Nozzles Recognized By Plant Engineering

AW2030ss559
EXAIR’s patented Model AW2030SS No-Drip Atomizing Spray Nozzle

If you follow our blog, Twitter, or Facebook pages, you may have seen us mentioning recent nominations for Plant Engineering Product of the Year Awards.  2015 will mark the 28th anniversary for this award, in which Plant Engineering readers select the most outstanding new products that help them do their jobs smarter, safer, more efficiently, and more productively.

Considering the pre-qualifiers for such an award, it makes sense that EXAIR products would show up, and show up repeatedly.  This year our No-Drip Atomizing Spray Nozzles have been nominated as a finalist in the Fluid Handling category.

Products in this field are recognized to present improvement potential, allowing users to create a more innovative process.  EXAIR No-Drip Atomizing Spray Nozzles do so by providing effortless integration of controlled liquid spraying.

Compressed air and pressurized (or non-pressurized) liquid are plumbed to the nozzle.  When compressed air is flowing, liquid will flow as well.  When compressed air flow stops, liquid flow stops.  Immediately.

For an end user of this product, this means that a precise volume of a specific liquid can be sprayed in a given time (duty cycle), with complete control before, during, and after nozzle activation.

The key to adding this innovation rests in the proprietary, patented (#9,156,045) design  of EXAIR’s No-Drip Atomizing Spray Nozzles.  Our engineers have worked tirelessly to create a stand-alone nozzle capable of controlling liquid flow without requiring a liquid control solenoid.

The viability of these nozzles has been recognized by Plant Engineering as an innovative new product in 2015.  If you agree and would like to cast a vote for EXAIR, please click here.

We thank you for your readership and, hopefully, for your support in this competition.

EXAIR Product Of The Year Candidate: Electronic Temperature Control for Dual Cabinet Cooler Systems

We have just found out that four of our new problem solving products have been nominated for Plant Engineering’s Product of the Year (Please Vote for us HERE).  The first candidate I would like to showcase is in the Automation & Controls category.  The Electronic Temperature Control for Dual Cabinet Cooler Systems effectively turn the compressed air supply to the Cabinet Coolers on and off as needed to maintain a constant temperature inside of a hot enclosure. Using the air intermittently to maintain a specific temperature is the most efficient way to operate.

The ETC Dual Cabinet Cooler Systems work in conjunction with EXAIR’s UL listed Cabinet Cooler Systems which provide cooling for your electrical enclosures without the use of refrigerant based coolants or fans.   The Cabinet Cooler Systems utilize a compressed air driven Vortex Tube which uses compressed air. This cold compressed air is exhausted into the enclosure which results in a cool working environment for your electronics. Warm air from inside the enclosure is vented safely back out of the cabinet through built in exhausts and the compressed air is only utilized when the internal air temperature reaches the digitally set temperature on the ETC.

Another added benefit of the ETC on the Cabinet Cooler system is the real time readout of the internal air temperature of your enclosures.  This is on top of the push button set point which will give you a +/-2°F ambient temperature inside of your enclosure.

The ETC Dual Cabinet Cooler Systems are designed for larger heat loads ranging from 3,400 BTU/hr. to 5,600 BTU/hr.   The units are available in NEMA 12, NEMA 4, and NEMA 4X ratings.   This means whether you are in a fairly clean environment or a dirty, hot, muggy environment, EXAIR has you covered.

If you would like to discuss either the ETC or the Cabinet Cooler Systems, please contact an Application Engineer.   If you would like to vote for our products, please check out the Plant Engineering Product of the Year page here.

EXAIR Welcomes Our French Distributor Kermaz Pneumatic

KERMAZvisit_2014_half
L to R: Lee Evans, Neal Raker, Lionel Barbat, Ivan Banks

EXAIR is pleased to host Lionel Barbat of Kermaz Pneumatic, the distributor of EXAIR products in France.  Mr. Barbat has made the journey to visit with us for product training and to see the new developments of EXAIR in person.  We hold an open door to our international distributors and are always pleased when they can visit with us.

While he has been here, we have reviewed new EXAIR products such as the Heavy Duty HEPA Vac and the No Drip Atomizing Nozzles.  We’ve had the opportunity to discuss product award winners like the Siphon Fed Atomizing Nozzle, Digital Flow Meter Data Logger, and the 1114SS Super Air Nozzle.  And, we’ve spent a great deal of time discussing applications of EXAIR products.

One of the applications that stood out was the potential to make a custom Light Duty Line Vac to convey material.  As many of our customers know, we will make custom parts or modifications to our products to suit the specific needs of an application.  This end user wanted flanges machined onto the end of a 130600 (6″ Light Duty Line Vac).  The purpose of these flanges was to allow for ease of mounting within the application.

After a few discussions here at EXAIR, we determined that a stock model could be used and the existing flanges of the system could mount everything perfectly.  Not only did this satisfy the end user, it sped up the timeframe on their project, saved them money, and proved once again that EXAIR is about solving problems.

If you have an application in need of a solution, contact an EXAIR Application Engineer.  We’d love to lend a hand.

EXAIR Offers Guidance To Get Your Compressed Air System On Track

Goals

As the New Year settles in, I see the telltale signs of people reviewing and going after new goals.  The most noticeable is the gym – it’s packed!  A few days ago I walked into the usually empty weight room to find over a dozen people.  I’m with that!  And even though it makes for a crowded couple of rooms, it amps the vibe and I’m with that too.  I’m also seeing numerous emails and news stories about how to get yourself on track for the coming year.  Whether it be a personal or financial goal, the guidance is out there.

This made me think about how we at EXAIR can help our customers set goals and guide them to get their compressed air systems on track for 2014.  We’ve posted numerous blogs about monitoring and optimizing your compressed air system (for which our products have won awards), determining the cost of compressed air at your plant, how compressed air leaks can be costly, and how EXAIR products can save our customers money by saving compressed air.

The resounding theme in all of these blogs is two-fold.  The first major point is that EXAIR is committed to our customers and their applications.  The second is that EXAIR products solve problems associated with compressed air applications and compressed air systems.  These two things will never change.

We are poised and ready to help our customers get their compressed air use on track.  With a full staff of Application Engineers ready to weigh in on applications via phone, web, and email, we’re here for whatever project you may have.

It is an Honor to be Nominated…

This year Plant Engineering has nominated (4) EXAIR products for their Product of the Year award.  Even though all of our products utilize compressed air, we are nominated in several different categories: fluid handling, electric controls, environmental health, and compressed air.  As a company, we stick to designing products that efficiently use compressed air, it’s our breadth of product line which affords us the opportunity to be nominated in numerous categories.

It is an honor to be nominated… winning would be further validation of everyone’s hard work around here.  We know it’s a team effort all around; from receiving in raw materials to machining and assembly to shipping quality product out the door on time. We rely on the talents of our sales and marketing teams and have come to count on our customer service folks to be the best in industry. Our engineers continue to design new products and expand product lines at an impressive speed and the accounting people help keep it all in check. If you are willing, please visit Plant Engineering’s Product of the Year website to view all of the nominees and vote for EXAIR products.  Below is a brief description of our nominated products and links to our website for more information.

We really got our start in designing safe, effective and efficient compressed air blow offs.  We continued that tradition this year by creating a 1″ Flat Super Air Nozzle, model 1126.  This nozzle produces a powerful 1″ wide air stream with 9.8 ounces of force 12″ away from the nozzle.  Because the air flow cannot be blocked, model 1126 meets OSHA standards 29 CFR – 1910.95(a) and 1910.242(b).  It also maintains a quiet 75 dBA, and uses 10.5 SCFM when supplied with an inlet pressure 80 PSIG.  Please vote for this product here.

Did you know that you can cool up to 5,600 Btu/hr with compressed air?  Our Cabinet Cooler Systems utilizes vortex tube technology to create cold air, which can be used to cool electrical panels.  This year we released a dual Cabinet Cooler System made of 316 stainless steel for wash down environments and NEMA 4X enclosures that need more than 2,800 BTU/Hr of cooling that a single cooler can provide.  Please vote for this product here.

In industrial environments, electrical vacuums do not hold up for very long.  EXAIR has been manufacturing industrial vacuums to replace the standard duty and electric vacuums for over a decade, but what do you do if the environment is very dusty with fine particulate? With EXAIR’s Heavy Duty HEPA Vac, we remove the danger of this fine particulate from being ingested or inhaled from the air with a HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filter that tested to IEST-RP-CC-007 HEPA standards.  The filters have a minimum of 99.97% filtration at the 0.3 micron level. Please vote for this product here.

Finally, we are nominated for a our No Drip Atomizing Spray Nozzle.  These nozzles are available in a variety spray patterns and flow rates.  The no-drip feature allows precise control of the amount of liquid used.  When precisely metering the liquid used in your coating process, the no-dip nozzle keeps up with your intermittent flow without forming a drip or a bubble to mar the uniform spray pattern that you need. Please vote for this product here.

Please take a look at these products and give EXAIR your vote.
