From Kirk Edwards, President of EXAIR: “I, for one, have been staring at the current EXAIR logo for 26 years – it represents where we came from and the hard work it took to get here. We have gained a lot of trust through performance, reliability, and our customer relationships under that logo. That trust earned will remain because it is, after all, the result of our people, customers, and commitment to doing things the right way. This brand refresh represents our strong and successful past while embracing new customer demands, emerging markets, and changing industries.”

The updated brand identity reflects EXAIR’s commitment to innovation and strategic direction in providing engineering solutions that yield tangible results. Customers and partners can continue to rely on the approachable expertise and reliable support that have established EXAIR’s strong reputation, now enhanced by a visual and messaging framework that embodies progress and creativity.

In the coming months, EXAIR will roll out the new branding across its digital platforms, marketing materials, and product packaging, with a public unveiling scheduled for the upcoming Grainger Trade Show. Liquid HollowStream™ Cone Nozzles and Electrostatic Filters

A company was contracted to clean electrostatic filters used in a commercial building.  Electrostatic filters are designed to capture airborne particles to improve indoor air quality.  They are washable and reusable.  The capturing mechanism is a bit different than a typical furnace filter.  It is done by using an Ionizing wire to place a positive charge onto the particles as they pass by.  Then, the charged particles are collected on collection plates that are negatively charged.  Like magnets, opposite charges attract.  Over time, the particles will build up on the plates.  The electrostatic filters generally need to be cleaned monthly to remove the grime of smoke, dust, and allergens.  Once they are washed and dried, they can be placed back in the air ducts to start filtering again.

The contractor above used a cleaning solution to break down the contamination prior to rinsing and drying.  They had to be careful with the electrostatic filters as the ionizing wires that are used to charge the particles are very thin and prone to breaking.  If an ionizing wire breaks, it will not properly charge the particles and the filtration is reduced.  So, manually cleaning was very difficult to perform.  They contacted EXAIR to provide a solution.

When it comes to liquid spraying, EXAIR has a new line of liquid atomizing spray nozzles; OmniStream™ and HollowStream™ Cone Nozzles.  They are engineered to spin the liquid in order to break the surface tension.  Passing through a precision orifice; the liquid will break into fine particles.  Increasing the surface area will increase the liquid coverage on to a surface and reduce the amount of liquid required.  For this application, I recommended the model HL1011SS; HollowStream Cone Nozzle.  They were able to pass the electrostatic filters under the HL1011SS to clean the collection plates and ionizing wires.  The force of the liquid was enough to clean the surfaces without damaging the thin wires.  The contractor was so impressed by the effectiveness of the nozzle; he added the same nozzle to his rinsing system.  With the EXAIR HollowStream Cone Nozzle generating small water particles, he was able to save money by using less water.

Here is a video with a residential electrostatic filter.

If you use liquids for washing, cleaning, or quenching; EXAIR has an effective and economical way to apply that material.  We offer different flowrates and port sizes.  The Liquid Atomizing Nozzles can handle liquid pressures up to 250 PSIG (17Bar) to get a hard-hitting force.  They are made from 303 stainless steel which is durable and corrosion resistance; and, they can withstand temperatures up to 800oF (427oC).  If you would like to discuss further the details of your liquid applications with an Application Engineer, we will be happy to hear from you.

EXAIR’s New Catalog 33 with New Products and Added Information

EXAIR Corporation has been manufacturing intelligent compressed air® products since 1983.  If your company uses pneumatic systems, EXAIR has solutions to save you money in compressed air usage, improve your safety environment, and increase productivity.  You can review these products and our new products in Catalog33, or you can speak with an Application Engineer.  We are looking forward to working with you.

For those of you that have been patiently waiting for the new catalog, we have great news! Catalog 33 is now in house. You can find it in our website as pdf files at this link, Catalog33.   We also have hard copies that are now available.   If you are like me and enjoy something to hold and read, you can fill out this form, Catalog Request.  Since Catalog32, we have released quite a few new products that are now included in Catalog33.  Here they are:

The EasySwitch® Wet/Dry Vacuum (page 167 – 168 in catalog) – In our Industrial Housekeeping Products, we made an industrial vacuum to pick up both liquid and solid materials.  The patent-pending EasySwitch vacuum simplifies the filter change process when switching from a dry material application to liquid, and vice versa.  Designed to handle the toughest of industrial cleanup jobs, the EasySwitch is available with either a standard or HEPA certified filter. It easily converts from liquid/dry mode by releasing the single latch and removing the filter element. For applications where dedicated wet and dry vacuum are needed, the EasySwitch is the ideal solution; one vacuum for wet, dry, light, and heavy applications.

Liquid Atomizing Spray Nozzles (OmniStream/HollowStream) (page 98 – 102 in catalog) – EXAIR’s OmniStream & HollowStream Spray Nozzles require no compressed air to operate. They produce droplets by spinning the liquid and breaking its surface tension through a precision orifice or by impacting the liquid onto a surface of the nozzle. These nozzles generate higher liquid flowrates and produce a coarser pattern than the Air Atomizing Spray Nozzles.  With the higher liquid flowrates, they are ideal for quenching, cooling, washing, rinsing, sanitizing, and many other applications.

Intellistat® Ion Air Gun™ (page 138 – 139 in catalog) – The Intellistat Ion Air Gun is a lightweight solution for static elimination operations. This intelligent product utilizes balanced ionized compressed air to neutralize static and remove particulates during clean processes, test procedures, and sensitive assembly work.  The Intelistat Ion Air Gun comes equipped with a short-throw effortless trigger and the lightweight and ergonomic frame allows extended periods of use without experiencing operator fatigue.  The ionizing gun comes complete with a 6mm air connection and tubing, red and green LED lights for feedback, a removable hook for easy storage, and a low-voltage 24 VDC power supply.  The Gen4 Static Eliminators are great tools for industrial applications, and the Intellistat Ion Air Gun is ideal for laboratories, electronics, lenses, medical, pharmaceutical, etc. type of areas.

VariBlast® Precision Safety Air Gun (page 105 in catalog) – The VariBlast Precision Safety Air Guns are very lightweight and deliver a focused blast of air.  This product line completes our Safety Air Guns from precision small blowing to the Super Blast.  Designed with the same style of variable force trigger as the VariBlast Compact Safety Air Guns, it’s easy to adjust the flow/force from the gun simply through the trigger.  New to this style of gun is the ability to install different length extensions, chip shields, and small Safety Air Nozzles.

Catalog 33 also added additional pages containing best practices for using compressed air products.
