Out with the Old, in with the NEW!

Like many of us, my household is in the full swing of outdoor projects and tasks. Entering into our second summer at our new house, we still have quite the laundry list of things we’d like to accomplish this year. Currently, I’m working on replacing an old privacy fence in my backyard and also having a new driveway poured. The old fence has been up since the house was built in 1973 and the driveway has without a doubt seen better days.

Last year we introduced the last few products within our NEW Gen4 Static Eliminator product line.

Some features of the new Gen4 Static Eliminator include:

  • UR recognized power supply and products. The unit is constructed of UL Recognized components that have been independently tested to meet safety standards set forth by UL
  • CE Compliance available for both the power supplies and all ionizers. The previous rendition of Static Eliminators included CE Compliance for the Power Supply only.
  • Single-wire, integrated ground design on the high voltage cable. The grounding is integrated into the steel conduit, protecting the inner cable.
  • Stainless steel connectors on the Power Supply. This replaces the previous plastic connections and dramatically enhances durability.
  • Replaceable parts on the Power Supply: An integrated fuse (0.1 amp 240V, fast blow), power switch, and modular power cable.
  • Power Supply voltage selection: With the turn of a switch, the Power Supply is now suitable for use with either 115 or 230 VAC.
  • Armored high voltage cable, built to withstand tough industrial environments and resist cuts and abrasions.
  • Enhanced performance, Ion Bars are now capable of eliminating a static charge at a distance 2x that of the older versions without a compressed air supply.

No matter the application, EXAIR has a Static Eliminator ready to tackle the job! If you have an older model Static Eliminator, be prepared to make the upgrade to the new Gen4 Static Eliminators. With the increased durability and enhanced performance that the Gen4 models offer, it’s time to bid adieu to the old-style Ionizers. Give us a call and upgrade your Static Eliminators today!

Go Vote For The EXAIR 1104-PEEK!

Plant Engineering Product of the Year Awards

In case you missed our blog on EXAIR having 4 finalists for Product of the Year 2014 from Plant Engineering there is a link here.   Today however, I would like to focus on just one of those products, the Model 1104-PEEK, 3/8″ FNPT Peek Plastic Super Air Nozzle.

The Model 1104-PEEK Super Air Nozzle blows off solar panels during assembly inspection.
The Model 1104-PEEK Super Air Nozzle blows off solar panels during assembly inspection.

The 1104-PEEK is constructed out of PEEK Thermoplastic which is designed to be chemical resistant, non-marring, and carries a high temperature rating.  The chemical resistance of PEEK plastic will help greatly in locations such as plating operations, chemical etching or cleaning metals, painting, or glass etching.  The low friction characteristic of PEEK plastic makes it ideal when trying to blow off delicate surfaces which may be scratched by metallic blow off nozzles such as, painted surfaces, glass, plastics, or even polished metals.  The PEEK thermoplastic is rated for environments up to 320°F (160°C).  This can be ideal for paint or coating curing ovens.   This could also come in handy around the exit of a furnace where there may be caustic fumes mixed with elevated temperatures.

When you combine all of the benefits from PEEK plastic with the engineered solutions from EXAIR, you will get an efficient, safe, engineered solution to your blow off application that will work in a caustic or hot environment, yet not mar a delicate surface.

If you have an 1104-PEEK already in your application, or are using another EXAIR product, please go and vote for us in the Plant Engineering Product of the Year awards.   We greatly appreciate all who are willing to vote for any of our products and are proud to continue bringing you the best products we can offer that fit your every compressed air need.

New Products, New Q & A, and New Projects

LSR 1900

On April 2, 2013, I wrote about my big Springtime Project. It is now a month and a half later and I have successfully completed my first “boot job” as they call it. I put the boat in the water last weekend and was so proud………….it didn’t sink!  Admittedly, I did keep it on the trailer while in the water at the ramp for about 15 minutes though and checked all round in the engine compartment to make sure nothing was coming through.   As many of you know, it is always a good feeling of achievement when you dig into something you know little about, research it and are able to make a successful repair. I did check with the repair department at a local marina and found out that it would have cost $1,400.00 to have them do it. Since I was able to do it for less than half of that in parts cost, that just reinforces benefit of doing it myself. I asked a lot of questions before and during the process and received a lot of good advice.

At EXAIR, I have recently fielded some questions about some of our newer products to help dispel any misnomers and bring to light some of the differences between the various models so customers can make an informed decision when they begin to look at our products and aren’t quite sure what to think…….much like me and the boat project.

One customer had asked me, “I have a lot of pneumatic actuators, a couple of Air Knives and some E-vacs on a compressed air line. I would like to mount a Digital Flow Meter to the line to know how much air we are consuming. Is it OK to permanently install the Digital Flow Meter or should I only use it on a temporary basis?”
The answer is that the Digital Flow Meters are intended to be installed permanently on a pipe for continued monitoring of compressed air flow for as long as the line is in service. In fact we have other accessory items such as the Summing Remote Display and the Data Logger which aid in monitoring flow over longer time frames.

Another customer asked, “You have quite a few different Industrial Vacuums for solid material pick-up, how do I know which one will work best for my material?  Is there a specific particle size range that each should be used for?”
The answer is that all of our solid pick –up, Industrial Housekeeping products: Chip Vac, Heavy Duty Dry Vac and Heavy Duty HEPA Vac can pick up most any solid materials as long as they will fit into the hose without clogging it. Think of the Chip Vac as our standard duty unit, the Heavy Duty Dry vac as the Heavy Duty pick-up unit and the Heavy Duty HEPA Vac the one that gives the best all round performance and can also work to filter very fine dust particles down to 0.3 micron at 99.97% efficiency.

In effect, all of our Industrial Vacuums are well suited for shop and industrial type uses. However, if you are the type of person who wants a bit more power, then HD Dry Vac and HD HEPA Vac are for you. If you have a large quantity of a very fine dust you are working with and don’t want to be clogging your filter bag immediately, then the HD HEPA Vac is our newest and best offering.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions. We make every effort to allow people to contact us in a variety of ways, so keep them coming. We can walk you through and help you get to a good point in your project.

Another Year Is Coming To A Close

Happy New Year to Everyone!!
Happy New Year to Everyone!!

With the holiday weekend upon us it is time to look back at what we have achieved this year.  EXAIR has released dozens of new products to help with all your compressed air needs; we launched a new method for you to get our information, our mobile site.  There have also been several Professor Penurious videos released and even a few new product videos.

While we have been staying busy making all of these items possible and I can guarantee that next year will be no different.  Here at EXAIR we are proud to say that we are the market leader in Intelligent Compressed Air Products.  We didn’t get that way by not maintaining our information, or inventing new products, or only blogging once a year.  We know that our people are the best, and we want to keep them working hard for our customers. We push and push everyday to make certain that we are a better company than any of our imitators.

With that being said, enjoy the new year, and make sure to watch for more products, videos, tweets, and information from EXAIR.

Peace and Joy to all in 2013.

EXAIR 110 Gallon Chip Trapper Wins Another Award!

Environmental Protection has announced the EXAIR 110 Gallon Chip Trapper as a New Product of the Year winner in the Waste category.  This is the THIRD award for the Chip Trapper.  The Chip Trapper was also a Golden Mousetrap Best New Products Awards Finalist, along with Plant Engineering’s Product of the Year.

The Chip Trapper is used to recover liquids and filter out unwanted chips, swarf, shavings, and debris.  You can then pump the filtered liquid back into your machine for further use or into a waste container through the use of the reversible valves. This enables you to use your coolants and liquids longer by keeping them cleaner, and do your part to keep things greener.

Due to the success of the 55 gallon Chip Trapper, EXAIR has produced a 30 gallon and 110 gallon version to complete a whole family of Chip Trapper products. If you would like to read more about the Chip Trapper or any of the other EXAIR products feel free to follow the links or contact us.
