In order to qualify for same-day shipping, we do need to receive a PO or order in-house before 2:00 ET for deliveries anywhere in the U.S. For orders shipping to Canada, you can still qualify for same-day shipping, but we need the order in-house by 1:00pm to ensure all documentation is properly taken care of.

One common question for anyone in industry is “Do you have samples I can use to test?”. While we do not offer any form of samples here at EXAIR, we can do you one better. The Cincinnati Bengals are in the SuperBowl: Who Dey from EXAIR!

As a lifelong Cincinnati Bengals fan it’s almost surreal to type this out, but the Bengals are going to the Superbowl!! Professional sports here in Cincinnati have often been the butt of many jokes, but this latest season has given us quite a bit of hope. The Cincinnati Bearcats, my alma mater, made their first ever appearance in the College Football Playoffs. Although they took a decent shellacking by Alabama on New Year’s Eve, it was a big step to relevancy for our hometown team. Having the Cincinnati Bengals follow suit has given us quite the ride this football season.

For many of us diehard Bengals fans it has been several decades of disappointment and frustration. While we’ve had some good fortune and had a nice run from 2010-2015 of playoff appearances, anyone that follows the NFL will know they held the longest playoff drought in professional sports for quite some time. Along with my lifetime of dedication, it was always a desire of mine to hold season tickets. We picked quite the year to take that plunge. The 2021 season was my first ever attending every single home game. Seeing them win the AFC Championship in Kansas City just recently (Cheifs fans were great by the way) was an experience I’ll not soon forget. I can still smell the BBQ now…

My fandom started as a young kid watching games with my father. As the oldest of 7 siblings, this tradition continued down the line with all of us donning our orange and black on Sundays and gathering in the living room to cheer on the Bengals. The joy we all shared together with each other and other Bengals fans over the years is a camaraderie unlike any other. We all share the same passion and excitement and it gives the city an opportunity to come together and all cheer on the same team as one. I think the late Betty White said it best:

“Everybody needs a passion. That’s what keeps life interesting. If you live without passion, you can go through life without leaving any footprints.”

My passions in life center around my love for cooking, not coincidentally training in the gym (so that I can continue my love for cooking…), and of course the Cincinnati Bengals. Excellence Is Not An Act, But A Habit

In my twitter feed I often see the aforementioned quote that is attributed to Aristotle. As this blog points out, the quote should really be attributed to Will Durant author of The Story of Philosophy, because it is his interpretation of what Aristotle would have said if he spoke English. While writing this blog I found out Aristotle didn’t really write the quote. In retrospect, clearly he didn’t write, if he did it might look something like this “Είμαστε Τι επανειλημμένα Do. Αριστείας, τότε, δεν είναι μια πράξη, αλλά μια συνήθεια”, but I digress.

Working with customers, resellers and catalog houses, I’m amazed at the different company cultures. Some customers will come to me six months before a project comes up to talk about the applications. They ask us for drawings, specifications, and certifications for the products that we recommend for their applications. They want to analyze all possible scenarios and plan for every eventuality.  These customers greatly appreciate our fully loaded knowledge base and availability of technical information.

Other customers call me for a quote and confirmation. They spent some time online, downloaded a CAD model and created a working plan, but before they pull the trigger, they want to run it by someone else. These customer greatly appreciate the fact that the phones are answered by human beings and we have a fully staffed Application Engineering department with engineers who are always eager to discuss applications and possibilities.

Finally, we have the customers, who I never spoke to before that need a product NOW and are willing to do anything to get. Shipping companies love these customers, because we have our products on the shelves ready to ship, but it will cost you air freight and a flux capacitor to get it there yesterday.

Unless it is a custom product, our production staff has already machined, built, and tested our product to our excellent standard.  I’m constantly amazed at the effort and continued excellence put out by customer service, engineering, marketing, and production. When the customer calls in to ask for product yesterday, 99.98% of the time I’m able to say that the shipment will be at the dock waiting for the shipping truck by 3:00 PM EST. We can typically do that without an extraordinary effort, because we practice excellent customer service everyday. It’s a habit we are not trying to quit.

Specials

I know we blog a good amount about having all catalog products in stock and ready to ship same day if we receive the order by 3:30 P.M. EST.  We also blog a good amount about how we can go outside of the box and make specials for customers that may even be a combination of a few products.  This week I had a customer who wanted an Ion Air Cannon without the Ionization.  After looking at the Super Air Amplifiers he said, “No, I need the adjustability of the Ion Air Cannon.”  So I simply told him no problem.   We can take our standard 120022, 2″ Super Air Amplifier, and bolt it right to the stand for an Ion Air Cannon.

Though not a production piece, we have made this from time to time. It is just one example of how here at EXAIR we go the extra mile to ensure you get not only what you need but also what you want and in a quick manner.  The turn around time for this special is 2-3 days from the date of order.  That means in less than a week you can have a custom Super Air Amplifier at your door that is not a catalog product.   I know some companies that you can’t even get their catalog products in less than a week.
